It was our (me, my wife and my 3 children) 1st time to eat brunch on this Restaurant and the food was delicious, warm and the serving was large portion. The place was clean, well kept and quiet. While staff are friendly, accommodating, attentive and most of all knowledgeable on their foods that are listed in their menu. We would definitely go back again there and eat dinner. Also, recommend to my friends as well.

Food is very tasty, decent portion sizes, reasonable prices, very hospitable staff, clean and tidy. The only downside is there is no wider menu selection appropriate for kids, and red cabbage and roasted potatoes were too spicy for kids too eat. Otherwise, awesome!

The food is great. I like their drinks too especially the Pinacolada and Margarita. I ordered Schintzel and Steak and Apple Strudel for dessert. I like how potatoes cooked that way. I just wish they didn’t put the mushroom sauce on the steak to be more appetizing. But overall, it was nice to go there.

So delicious, the spatzel is exquisite, best I ever had. We will be coming back probrably tomorrow as we have to stay in Vancouver for a few days. Make sure to stop by and try their schnitzel, it is so light, crispy, moist, tender and yummy. The staff very friendly and knowledgeable. Wonderful experience. Thanks for making our dinner wonderful.

Quite a good place, German restaurant
This Restaurant is really a gem in new Westminster … as they provide the authentic German food …. The food was really delicious and good portions. We couldn’t eat it all so we asked for takeout boxes . My stakes was perfectly tender and juicy and of cause to my liking … the staff was really professional and knows what they are doing … the servers were friendly and polite.
The sides in our plates really complimenting to the stake.
Thanks to old Bavaria staff who made our day memorable

In many ways, the work of a critic is easy. We risk very little yet enjoy a position over those who offer up their work and their selves to our judgment. We thrive on negative criticism, which is fun to write and to read. But the bitter truth we critics must face, is that in the grand scheme of things, the average piece of junk is probably more meaningful than our criticism designating it so. But there are times when a critic truly risks something, and that is in the discovery and defense of the new. The world is often unkind to new talent, new creations. The new needs friends.

Last night, I experienced something new, an extra-ordinary meal from a singularly unexpected source. To say that both the meal and its maker have challenged my preconceptions about fine cooking is a gross understatement. They have rocked me to my core. In the past, I have made no secret of my disdain for Chef Krombacher famous motto: ‘Anyone can cook.’ But I realize, only now do I truly understand what he meant. Not everyone can become a great artist, but a great artist can come from anywhere. It is difficult to imagine more humble origins than those of the genius now cooking at The old Bavaria Haus, who is, in this critic’s opinion, nothing less than the finest chef in Canada. I will be returning to The Old Avaria Hous soon, hungry for more.

I was at the old Bavaria house for dinner tonight with some friends and the food was amazing, the portions were a good size, it was good value for your dollar and our server Aachal was equally as amazing, she was always there to refill our water and make sure we had everything we needed without being at our table too often. I highly recommend this restaurant, enjoy your meal!

We don’t live in the area, but wanted to go somewhere for German food for a birthday. The atmosphere is nice and cozy. German music playing in the background. Service was excellent. Everyone in my party was very pleased with the food. Everything tasted amazing. ordered the combination dinner. Rouladen was flavorful and very tender. Schnitzel was amazing – tender with a light crispy coating. Everything was delicious! Will definitely want to make the trek out here to visit again.
